Aswan to Luxor Distance
The distance between the two cities is about 240 km, which is 3.5-4 hours, depending on traffic and mode of transport.
There are no direct flights between Aswan and Luxor! Therefore, you have to fly from Aswan to Cairo and from there to Luxor.

Aswan to Luxor by Taxi, Private Car
The easiest and fastest way to get to Luxor is by taxi. The journey takes 3.5 hours, depending on traffic.
A taxi from Aswan to Luxor costs between 60-100 USD, depending on the number of passengers, time of day, etc. If you are not traveling alone, the price is affordable.
Before you get in the taxi, be sure to agree on a price with the driver. The taxi drivers do not accept card payments, so you should bring local money!
Private Transfer with Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples
Alternatively, you can book a private transfer to Luxor, including a visit to the majestic temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo. Your driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel and drop you at your Luxor hotel.

Aswan to Luxor by Bus
The cheapest way to get to Luxor is by bus. The journey time is 4-hours, depending on traffic. We have no experience with buses in Egypt as we have only traveled by train.
There is one daily direct bus to Luxor at 17:00. The bus tickets start from 13 USD.
Aswan to Luxor by Train
The most popular way to get to Luxor is by train. We found traveling by train in Egypt comfortable and safe. The train journey to Luxor takes 3-3.5 hours. However, trains are often delayed, so the journey can take up to 4-5 hours.
We recommend that you arrive at the train station at least 30 minutes before departure. Take care of your valuables, as minor thefts or pickpockets may occur around the railway station.

One of the best ways to get to Luxor is by air-conditioned minivan. A shuttle minivan to Luxor (any hotel) starts from 30 USD. The journey time takes 3.5 hours, depending on traffic.
