Cairo Airport to Giza Pyramids by Taxi, Private Transfer
The easiest and fastest way to get to Giza Pyramids is by taxi. The journey takes 1 hour, depending on traffic.
The taxi cost from Cairo Airport to Giza Pyramids ranges between 10 and 15 USD, depending on the number of passengers, time of day, etc. If you are not traveling alone, the price is affordable.

There are three types of taxis in Cairo: black, yellow, and white colored taxis. The old black taxis have no air conditioning and meters. Before you get in the taxi, be sure to agree on a price with the driver. The taxi drivers do not accept card payments, so you should bring local money! We recommend you choose the modern white taxis, with air conditioning and a taximeter. Yellow taxis are the most expensive and can be booked in advance by phone.

Cairo Airport to Giza
There are no direct bus connections between Cairo Airport and Giza. The bus from Cairo Airport to the city center departs every 30 minutes between 07:50 and 18:15. You will first need to take the No. 111 bus to Shoubra or the No. 381 bus to Imbaba to Ramses Station, then take a metro, taxi, or bus to Giza. The total travel time is approximately 2 hours.
By Metro
From Cairo Airport, take metro Line 3 to Cairo city center. Then, get off at Ataba station, the last stop on Line 3. There you can transfer to Line 2 and get to Giza station. Travel time is about 20 minutes, and the metro ticket to Giza station costs 15 EGP (0.50 USD) per person. Once you arrive in Giza, you can easily take a taxi or Uber to reach the Giza Pyramids or your accommodation.
By Public Bus
The cheapest way to reach Giza is by bus. Take the No. 355 or 357 bus from Cairo city center to the pyramids. The bus ticket costs around 5 EGP (0.15 USD) per person. The journey time takes 1-1.5 hours, depending on traffic.
If you want to travel by bus, bring local money, as you can buy your bus ticket after boarding. Bus numbers are often not clearly visible or written in Arabic, so ask the driver where the bus is going. Buses depart from the area around El-Tahir Square and the Egyptian Museum. Ask locals for the current timetable.
Public transport is not recommended for solo female travelers! Take care of your valuables, as minor thefts or pickpockets may occur on public transport.
