Countries that have been sanctioned, such as Cuba, Iran, Syria, and North Korea, are not covered by SafetyWing.
What does SafetyWing Insurance Cover?
SafetyWing Nomad Insurance provides coverage for unexpected illness or injury, including eligible hospital, medical, or prescription drug expenses. This cover is provided by SafetyWing for people traveling outside their home country. It also covers, for example, evacuations due to local unrest, unplanned overnight stays, and lost checked luggage.
If you do not currently have an active policy with SafetyWing, the COVID-19 coverage will automatically be a part of your plan.
Am I Covered for Scooter Accidents?
Yes! You will be covered for your own eligible medical expenses in the case of an accident while riding a motorcycle, moped, or scooter. However, wear a helmet, have a valid driving license (international license if required), and do not drink alcohol when driving!

How Much Does SafetyWing Nomad Insurance Cost?
SafetyWing is the cheapest nomad insurance where you can get the best prices. The price depends on your age and whether you are traveling to the United States or other countries outside the U.S.
The default length of Nomad Insurance Coverage is 4 weeks (28 days).

The deductible is 250 USD.
If you choose the set travel dates instead of the 4-week subscription, you pay for the whole trip upfront. An active insurance period lasts for a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 364 days.
Optional add-ons
You can take out an optional add-on as coverage for electronic devices like cameras, smartphones, drones, tablets, and laptops up to 1000 USD per stolen item, with a total yearly limit of 3000 USD per policy. However, this option is only available for policies of 28 days or longer.
Coverage for additional adventure sports such as cave diving, hang gliding, kitesurfing, martial arts, and skydiving will cost extra.
How do I File a Claim?
Log in to your profile on the SafetyWing website, fill in the claim form, and submit the documents (medical report, proof of payment, or receipt) with your photos.
You must report electronic theft to the police within 24 hours!
You need to claim within 60 days of the end of your insurance! But if you are hospitalized, you must notify SafetyWing as soon as possible, but no later than before you are discharged. If the claim is approved, payment will be received by bank transfer to your bank account in less than 45 days.
