Where is Dalawella Beach
Dalawella Beach is located near the main road in Unawatuna, on the south coast of Sri Lanka. It is 20 minutes drive from Galle and 40 minutes from Mirissa.
How to Get to Dalawella Beach
From Colombo, you can easily reach Unawatuna by train in just 2 hours. First-class train tickets start from 3.5 USD, and second-class tickets from 2 USD.
The distance between Unawatuna and Galle is only 6 km, and the travel time is approximately 20 minutes. You can get to Unawatuna by local bus (0,20 USD) or tuk tuk driver.

You can easily catch a tuk tuk from Unawatuna and reach the beach in about 5 minutes for just 1-2 USD. Before getting on the tuk tuk, agree on the price.

If you are driving independently, you can park around the Dream Cabana Guesthouse. We left our tuk tuk next to a nearby shop and walked through the alley next to Dream Cabana to Dalawella Beach.
Best Time to Visit Unawatuna, Sri Lanka
Unawatuna is a popular destination all year round! But the best time to visit the southwest of Sri Lanka is during the dry season, from December to April. The weather is sunny and dry during these months, perfect for swimming and exploring the nearby attractions.
Unawatuna has a tropical climate with high humidity, and the average temperature is 28°C all year round. The rainy season runs from May to September.

Dalawella Frog Rock & Palm Tree Rope Swing
Since the rope swing is located in front of the Dream Cabana Guesthouse, the local guys will help you use the rope swing safely. Although a bit scary, it is a fantastic experience and one of the best things to do in Sri Lanka.

Wijaya Rock, also known as Frog Rock, is another iconic attraction in Unawatuna, Sri Lanka. You can easily reach the famous Frog Rock with a 10-minute coastal walk from Dalawella Beach.
The Frog Rock is free to visit. If you want to climb Frog Rock, be careful, as the rock is slippery! It is not recommended for those who are afraid of heights.
Spend some relaxing hours enjoying nearby beaches like Wijaya Beach and Turtle Beach. It is a perfect place to snorkel, swim with turtles, and relax on the beach.
