Khao Sok Floating Bungalows on Cheow Lan Lake
There are two entrances to Khao Sok National Park. The western entrance is the park headquarters in Khlong Sok village, and the eastern entrance is at the Ratchaprapha Dam (Cheow Lan Pier).
In the national park, locals travel only by long tail boats. Although there are many different floating accommodations in Khao Sok National Park, the best place to stay is the 500 Rai Floating Resort.
500 Rai Floating Resort – Top Choice
Looking for the best romantic getaway or the perfect place for a family holiday in Khao Sok National Park? Each room in the resort is floating in a lake surrounded by huge mountains. No Wi-Fi and mobile signals. But a variety of experiences to help you connect with nature.
The floating resort is divided into two sections. The first is the Connecting Zone, where Deluxe Rooms, Villas, and Family Villas are located. These are connected by a promenade, and at one end is the resort’s pier, reception, restaurant, and pool. The other section is the Suite Zone, with the Deluxe Suites, Family Suites, and 1 Honeymoon Suite.
The Suite zone is separated from the main resort area, offering more privacy. You can book a boat shuttle or use your kayak to get to the restaurant and pool.
We stayed at the 500Rai for 2 nights and had a fantastic experience. Our villa had 24-hour air conditioning, electricity, and hot and cold water. What we liked the most was that each room included a kayak, which provided the perfect way to relax in nature.
The open-air restaurant serves various dishes, including Southern Thai, Western, vegan, and kosher. 500 Rai Floating Resort offers a variety of activities and excursions, such as lake sightseeing, Thai cooking, dessert or drink classes, wildlife safari, trekking, and cave exploring.
The long-tail boat ride from Chiewlarn Pier to the resort takes about 1.5 hours. On the way, you can admire the beautiful lake with its emerald green water and the magical limestone cliffs of Khao Sam Kler.
This is undoubtedly one of the best (if not the only) luxurious floating bungalows on Cheow Lan Lake in Khao Sok.
Panvaree Resort
Panvaree Resort is one of the best affordable Khao Sok floating bungalows on Cheow Lan Lake. The floating bungalows provide the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. They are designed to offer you a peaceful retreat surrounded by the lake and rainforest.
Panvaree Resort is a 45-minute boat ride from Ratchaprapa Pier. The property provides a free round-trip transfer from the pier to the resort. During your stay, you can go jungle trekking to spot wildlife, explore hidden caves, kayak, or relax on your private balcony. Praiwan Raft House
Praiwan Raft House features 30 floating bungalows connected by wooden walkways. The rooms are clean, cool, and breezy. Each room has its own veranda. You can get to Praiwan Raft House from the Ratchaprapha Dam Pier by a 40-minute boat ride. There is no Wi-Fi, internet, or telephone signal. Electricity is only available for a few hours in the evening, from 6 PM to 9 PM.
In the raft house, meals are served three times a day in the dining sala. You can lie on the deck and watch the night sky in the jungle or jump into the clear and fresh lake water.
In our opinion, this accommodation is a bit overpriced and offers nothing special. So we recommend you consider booking another floating bungalow in Khao Sok National Park.
