One of the easiest and fastest ways to get to Saranda is by taxi. The journey takes 3.5-4 hours, depending on traffic.

The taxi price from Tirana to Saranda is between 15.000-18.000 LEK (150-180 EUR). Uber is currently not available in Albania. But you can use taxi apps such as Speed Taxi or Merr Taxi.

Be sure you negotiate the price with the driver before you get in the taxi. Taxi drivers do not accept card payments, so you should bring local money (LEK) or EUR.

The cheapest way to get to Saranda is by bus. Buses depart from the Tirana Bus Terminal. The bus terminal is located outside the city center, about 15-20 minutes by taxi. The buses do not have numbers but have signs showing where they are going, such as Saranda, Berat, Shkoder, or Himare.

The journey time takes 4.5-5 hours, depending on traffic. We found traveling by bus in Albania easy and safe. The buses are air-conditioned and have comfortable seats and big luggage compartments.

There is no direct bus service from the airport to Saranda.

The bus ticket to Saranda costs 1555 LEK (15.5 EUR) per person. You can buy your bus ticket on the bus and pay only in cash (EUR or LEK).
