The cheapest way to get from Miraflores to Barranco is by local bus, which costs 1.50 Soles per person. One of our favorite places to visit in Lima was Barranco, the Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs). The area has many local musicians, street vendors, and beautiful street art.

Although there are fewer hotels in this area than in Miraflores or San Isidro, it is still a good choice to stay in this area of Lima.

Hotel B is a charming, unique local hotel in Lima’s lively Barranco neighborhood. The hotel is just 2 blocks from the ocean and within walking distance of Barranco’s restaurants, galleries, and nightlife. When is the best time to stay in Lima?

The weather is generally hot and sunny, with high humidity and little rainfall. The city can be visited all year round, but the best time to visit is from December to April when the weather is warm and sunny.

How to Get to Lima

Most travelers to Peru arrive at Jorge Chavez International Airport (airport code LIM), as you can get cheap flights to Lima. If you are already in Peru, you can also take a short domestic flight from Cusco, Iquitos, or Arequipa.

You can easily get to Miraflores from the airport by taxi, bus, shared and private transfer. A taxi cost from Jorge Chavez International Airport to Miraflores is between 60-80 Soles (16-22 USD), depending on the number of passengers, time of day, etc.

Is Lima Safe?

It is generally safe. However, some areas in Lima are not safe, such as around the airport and the city center. Avoid walking at night and taking taxis alone, especially in the downtown! We recommend booking a private transfer from the Airport to Miraflores. However, Miraflores, Barranco, and San Isidro are absolutely safe and can be discovered on foot.
