3. Northeast side of the Island
Where to stay in Nusa Penida on a budget? Many digital nomads and budget travelers can find accommodation in the north and northeast of the island. If you’re a digital nomad, the North Coast is home to many coworking places and cafés, including Penida Colada, Secret Penida, and Coco Penida Restaurant & Bar, where you can work comfortably.
You should rent a scooter to make exploring the island much easier and more comfortable. The easiest way is to rent a scooter at the port upon arrival. Scooter rental starts from 65,000 IDR (4 USD) per day, but we do not recommend paying more than 90,000 IDR (5.5 USD). If you rent a scooter for several days, ask for a discount!
If you don’t want to rent a scooter and want to explore the island at your own pace, hire a private car with a driver or join a private tour. This is the best area to stay in Nusa Penida if you’re a backpacker or traveling on a budget.
