Casablanca to Chefchaouen by Car
You can easily rent a car at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (airport code CMN) or in the city. The car rental costs will be different when you travel to Morocco in high season or low season and rent a car in advance or at the last minute.

Between the two cities, the road is well-maintained and asphalted. The drive time from Casablanca to Chefchaouen is usually 5 hours, depending on traffic. There are often police checkpoints on the road, so always wear your seatbelt and obey the speed limit!
Casablanca to Chefchaouen Day Trip
If you don’t want to worry about how to get from one city to another, join a group or private tour that includes a transfer. One of the best and most popular ways to get to Chefchaouen is by air-conditioned minivan. The journey time takes 5 hours, depending on traffic and number of passengers. A shuttle minivan to Chefchaouen (any hotel) starts from 68 USD.
Casablanca to Chefchaouen by Private Taxi
The most expensive but fastest way to get to Chefchaouen is by taxi. The journey takes 5 hours, depending on traffic.
A taxi cost from Casablanca to Chefchaouen is between 280-350 USD, depending on the number of passengers, time of day, etc. If you are not traveling alone, the price is affordable.
Before you get in the taxi, be sure to agree on a price with the driver! Taxi drivers do not accept card payments, so you should bring local money (MAD) or EUR.

Casablanca to Chefchaouen by CTM Bus
The cheapest way to reach Chefchaouen is by bus. In Morocco, we have always traveled by CTM bus because it is affordable, comfortable, and safe. The travel time is approximately 6.5 hours, depending on traffic.
Currently, there are only two daily direct bus services to Chefchaouen. You can check the current timetable on the CTM Maroc. The cheapest bus tickets start from 93 MAD (9 USD). However, bus tickets usually cost between 18-23 USD in high season. We recommend purchasing your bus ticket at least 1 week in advance.
Alternatively, there are several buses departing from the Casablanca FAR bus station to Fes or Tangier, from where you can change to another bus to reach the Blue City.
The nearest tram stop to the Casablanca CTM bus terminal is Marché Central, just a 5-minute walk from the bus station. A tram ticket costs 8 MAD (8 USD) for a single trip and 14 MAD (14 USD) for two rides.
We recommend you arrive at the bus station at least 30 minutes before departure. Be sure to buy a ticket for your luggage at the CTM bus station, which costs 6 MAD (0.6 USD) per luggage.
When you arrive at the CTM bus station in Chefchaouen, take a taxi to the Medina (Old Town), which costs 20-30 MAD (2-3 USD).

Casablanca to Chefchaouen By Train
There are no direct trains between the two cities, as the Blue City has no railway station. But you can get from Casa Voyageurs to Tangier by train, and from there, take a bus, taxi, or private transfer to Chefchaouen.
The direct train from Casablanca to Tangier takes 2 hours and 10 minutes, and cheapest train tickets start from 149 MAD (15 USD) per person. Then, you can reach Chefchaouen from Tangier in about 2-2.5 hours.
