Where is Diamond Beach?
Pantai Diamond, also known as Diamond Beach, is located on the east coast of Nusa Penida Island in Indonesia, near Atuh Beach.
How to Get to Diamond Beach, Nusa Penida
To get to the beach, you first need to get to Nusa Penida Island in Indonesia. Unfortunately, there is no airport in Nusa Penida. The nearest airport is in Bali, the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (airport code DPS).

You can easily get to Nusa Penida by fast boat or slow ferry from Bali, Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan, the Gili Islands, and Lombok. Boat tickets can be easily bought at the port, but we recommend booking online.
When you arrive in Nusa Penida Harbour, you must pay the island entrance fee (tourist retribution fee), which costs 25,000 IDR for adults and 15,000 IDR for children.
Bali to Diamond Beach, Nusa Penida
Ferries run regularly between Sanur Harbour and Nusa Penida. Sanur Port is ideal for those staying in Kuta, Seminyak, or Canggu. Speedboat tickets cost around 9-10 USD one way, and travel time is approximately 30-50 minutes.

Once you arrive at Nusa Penida port, rent a scooter or hire a private driver and visit the beach. Diamond Beach is about a 1-hour drive from the harbor. The road to the beach is narrow and winding, with many potholes, so drive carefully!
Alternatively, take a day trip from Bali. During the tour, you can visit the island’s most popular attractions, such as the famous Kelingking (T-Rex) Beach, Broken Beach & Angel’s Billabong, Diamond Beach, and Rumah Pohon Tree House.

Best Time to Visit Nusa Penida
Indonesia has two seasons: a dry season and a rainy season. The best time to visit Nusa Penida is during the dry season, which runs from May to October. The weather is sunny and dry during these months, perfect for boat tours, swimming, snorkeling, and exploring the island.
The rainy season runs from November to April.
Nusa Penida Island has a tropical climate with high humidity, and the average temperature is 27°C all year round. In high season, we strongly recommend booking accommodation, ferry tickets, and tours in advance!

Diamond Beach & Cliff Stairway Nusa Penida
The crystal clear waters and breathtaking views of Diamond Beach make it an unmissable destination in Nusa Penida. The beach boasts a stunning stretch of pristine white sand, perfect for sunbathing or relaxing.
The parking lot is located between Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach. The entrance fee to Diamond Beach is 35,000 IDR (2 USD) per person and includes Atuh Beach. The parking fee is 5,000 IDR.
Most tourists only take pictures at the stairs, which can be a bit dangerous as it is quite narrow and very crowded. If you want to take the best photo and avoid the crowds, arrive as early as possible.

You can descend to the beach via a steep staircase carved into the cliffside. The walk down is steep, but the steps are in good condition, except for the last section, where you can use a rope to get down to the beach. It takes about 20 minutes with photo stops to get down to the beach, and the way up probably takes a little longer.
There is also a swing at Diamond Beach where you can take beautiful Instagram photos for 200,000 IDR (12 USD), but we think it’s a bit overpriced.

Can I swim at Diamond Beach Nusa Penida?
Although there are many signs warning that swimming is prohibited, many people still ignore them. Due to the strong waves and currents, we do not recommend swimming at Diamond Beach. If you have enough time and want to swim, head to the nearby Atuh Beach.

Atuh Beach
Atuh Beach is a stunning white sandy beach surrounded by huge cliffs and incredible rock formations. It is located on the other side of Diamond Beach, so you can easily combine your visit. You can get down to the beach in just 10 minutes via steep stairs. The advantage of this beach is that you can rent umbrellas and there are a few warungs where you can buy food and drinks.
The beach is rocky, so be sure to check the timing of the tide, as at low tide, it is impossible to swim or get into the water due to the rocks.

After visiting the beaches, enjoy the view from the Jogglo viewpoint.
