Best Beaches in Senggigi

1. Nipah Beach

If you’re looking for a secluded and peaceful beach away from the crowds, head to Nipah. This beach has a long coastline, making it ideal for a romantic walk or taking gorgeous photos.

Nipah Beach is just a 15-minute drive from Senggigi. Once you arrive, it’s just a few minutes walk from the parking lot to this breathtaking stretch of beach. There is no entrance fee, and parking is free!

Lombok has many beautiful beaches, but in our opinion, the most beautiful beach in Senggigi is Nipah Beach. We were lucky when we visited in May, as there were no tourists and only a few locals around the beach.

If you have a drone, bring it with you because the views from above are stunningly beautiful.

2. Senggigi Beach

One of the best beaches in Senggigi is Pantai Senggigi, which should not be missed. Although the beach offers beautiful photo opportunities, swimming or snorkeling is not recommended here due to the many boats. If you want to relax or take a romantic walk, we recommend choosing the first or fourth beach from our list.

Don’t miss the beautiful view at the Senggigi View sign, just a 5-minute drive from the beach.

Are you a surf lover? Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced surfer, you can easily find the best beach in Senggigi to enjoy the waves or take surfing lessons.

3. Pantai Mentigi Beach

One of the hidden gems is Mentigi Beach, which is ideal for families due to its shallow waters and calm waves. Since you won’t see the beach from the road, you might pass by it, so stop at the Pantai Mentigi sign and visit this beautiful beach.

Unfortunately, we only heard about this beach after our trip, so we couldn’t visit it, but we added it to our list of the best beaches in Senggigi so that others don’t make this mistake.

4. Pandanan Beach

Pantai Pandanan is a beautiful white sandy beach with crystal clear turquoise waters, overlooking the Gili Islands. It is also suitable for families as the waves are not too big. We enjoyed a few relaxing hours here and would have loved to stay longer.

Pandanan Beach is free to visit, and you can easily combine your visit with the nearby Nipah and Malimbu beaches. There are some cozy local restaurants (warungs) on the beach where you can eat delicious grilled fish and drink cold coconuts. You can also rent a kayak or canoe or take a banana boat ride, which is a fantastic experience.

5. Pantai Klui Beach

Pantai Klui is privately owned but open to the public. It is a long beach with crystal clear waters, beautiful palm trees, and pristine golden sand. There is a small hut on the beach where you can buy light snacks and refreshing drinks.

The best time to visit is at sunset, but to avoid the crowds, arrive as early as possible in the morning. If you want to stay close to the beach, we recommend staying at Jeeva Klui Resort.

The beach is clean and well-maintained thanks to the locals, making it a popular spot for camping and perfect for taking photos with the palm trees in the background.

Indonesia has two seasons: a dry season and a rainy season. Lombok is a popular destination all year round. But the best time to visit Senggigi is during the dry season, which runs from May to October. The weather is sunny and dry during these months, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and exploring Lombok Island. August is the driest month.

Senggigi has a tropical climate with high humidity and an average annual temperature of 25°C.

The busiest time to visit is between July and August. In high season, we strongly recommend booking accommodation, ferry tickets, and tours in advance!

How to Get to the Beaches of Senggigi

The best way to get around Senggigi is to rent a scooter or hire a private driver. Unlike Nusa Penida, Lombok has well-maintained paved roads. Especially around Senggigi, you will love the picturesque scenery and incredible views while driving. As there are many beautiful photo spots along the way, allow more time to get from one place to another.

We rented a motorbike and explored Senggigi’s beaches at our own pace. Scooter rental starts from 65,000 IDR (4 USD) per day, but we don’t recommend paying more than 85,000 IDR (5 USD). If you rent a scooter for several days, ask for a discount!
