Fes to Chefchaouen by Car
You can easily rent a car at Fes Sais International Airport (airport code FEZ) or in the city. The car rental costs will be different when you travel to Morocco in high season or low season and rent a car in advance or at the last minute.

Between the two cities, the road is well-maintained and asphalted. The drive time from Fes to Chefchaouen takes approximately 3.5-4 hours on the N13 highway. There are often police checkpoints on the road, so always wear your seatbelt and obey the speed limit!

One of the best and most popular ways to get to Chefchaouen is by air-conditioned minivan. The journey time takes 3.5 hours, depending on traffic and number of passengers. A shuttle minivan to Chefchaouen (any hotel) starts from 39 USD.
Fes to Chefchaouen by Taxi
The most expensive but fastest way to get to Chefchaouen is by taxi. The journey takes 3.5 hours, depending on traffic.
A taxi cost from Fes to the Blue City is between 175-265 USD, depending on the number of passengers, time of day, etc. If you are not traveling alone, the price is affordable.
Before you get in the taxi, be sure to agree on a price with the driver! Taxi drivers do not accept card payments, so you should bring local money (MAD) or EUR.

Fes to Chefchaouen by Private Transfer
The most comfortable way to get to Chefchaouen is by private transfer. The transfer departs five times a day, at 8 AM, 9 AM, 10 AM, noon, and 2 PM. Then, meet your English/French-speaking driver and enjoy a safe and comfortable private transfer to Chefchaouen.
The journey takes 4 hours, depending on traffic. For four people, it costs 57 USD per person, and for six people, it will cost 38 USD per person, making it ideal for families and groups of friends.

Fes to Chefchaouen by CTM Bus
There is no train from Fes to Chefchaouen, as the Blue City has no railway station. So the cheapest way to reach Chefchaouen is by bus. In Morocco, we have always traveled by CTM bus because it is affordable, comfortable, and safe. The travel time is approximately 4.5-5 hours, depending on traffic.
There are currently only 3-4 daily direct bus services to Chefchaouen. You can check the current timetable on the CTM Maroc. The cheapest bus tickets start from 110 MAD (11 USD), and we recommend you buy them 1-2 days in advance.
A taxi from Medina (Blue Gate) to the CTM bus station costs 35 MAD (3.5 USD).
We recommend you arrive at the bus station at least 30 minutes before departure. Be sure to buy a ticket for your luggage at the CTM bus station, which costs 7 MAD (0.7 USD) per luggage.
Take care of your valuables, as minor thefts or pickpockets may occur on public transport!
