One of the best photo spots in Tulum is the Ven a la Luz sculpture at the Ahau Tulum Hotel. Because of its popularity, it is incredibly crowded. So if you don’t visit early in the morning, you may find queues snaking and long waits.

Daniel Popper’s magnificent sculpture is 10 meters high, and its woman figure illustrates the deep connection between people and nature. It was one of the favorite Instagrammable places in Tulum.

Previously, the sculpture was free to visit, but now there is an entrance fee of 60 MXN (3 USD).

As Escultura Ven a la Luz is one of the best Instagram spots in Tulum, you may have to wait in long queues during the day for the perfect photo.

Matcha Mama is open from 8 AM to 6 PM. You should arrive before the opening time as the café will be crowded in the afternoon.

This beautiful cenote is probably one of the most beautiful places in Mexico, and it is a fantastic experience to stand on the platform.

The most Instagrammable places in Tulum are the beautiful white sandy beaches with turquoise waters and palm trees. Our favorite beach in Tulum was Playa Xpu-Ha. But Akumal, Playa Ruinas, and Playa Paraiso are also worth a visit.

Exploring the Muyil Ruins was a fantastic experience as we only met a few tourists. The Muyil Ruins are just a 20-minute drive from the center of Tulum.

There are plenty of Mayan Ruins to visit during your stay in Tulum, so we highly recommend a trip to the Muyil Ruins.

8. Laguna de Kaan Luum

Laguna Kaan Luum is just a 10-minute drive from the Muyil Ruins. Kaan Luum Lagoon has a long wooden pier and a beautiful, deep cenote in the middle of the lagoon, which is why it’s one of the best photo spots in Tulum.

The entrance fee to Laguna Kaan Luum is 300 MXN (16.5 USD). The drone ticket is 150 MXN (8 USD).

The Laguna Kaan Luum is open from 9 AM to 4 PM.

We found the entrance fee overpriced for a short visit, but if you have enough time, it’s well worth a visit. 

9. Cenote Casa Tortuga Tulum

The cenotes at Casa Tortuga Tulum are stunningly beautiful and great Instagram spots in Tulum. Cenote Casa Tortuga Tulum is just a 15-minute drive from the city center.

The entrance fee is 650 MXN (36 USD) and includes a guide, lifejacket, access to the four cenotes, and the zipline.

Casa Tortuga Tulum is open from 9 AM to 5 PM. There are several impressive cenotes to visit at Casa Tortuga.

For the best experience, you can book a day tour that includes a visit to the Cenote Casa Tortuga and the Tulum Ruins.

One of the best Instagram spots near Tulum, and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, is Chichen Itza. Chichen Itza is about a 2-hour drive from Tulum, but if you have enough time, it’s well worth the trip.

For the perfect Instagram shot, arrive in the morning or just before closing time in the afternoon. 

The Chichen Itza entrance fee is 614 MXN (34 USD) for foreign adults. You should bring Mexican cash!

11. Azulik Uh May

Azulik Uh May is one of the most popular Instagram spots near Tulum. This is a beautiful art museum located deep in the Mayan jungle. It is about a 30-minute drive from the center of Tulum.

The Azulik Uh May entrance fee is 20 USD and is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Pablo Escobar’s former mansion Casa Malca in Tulum has been transformed into a luxury boutique hotel. You’ll find a giant hanging sofa in the middle, with huge curtains made of wedding dresses.

There is a food and drink minimum spend of 1000 MXN (55 USD) if you’re not a hotel guest.

We didn’t have time to visit, but in our opinion, it’s one of the best Instagrammable places in Tulum.

14. Tulum Beach Club Entrances

You can visit the beach club entrances in Tulum for free and take some photos without waiting. If you’re spending more time in Tulum and don’t have a limited budget, spend some relaxing hours in one of the beach clubs.
