Campuhan Ridge Walk

Where is the Campuhan Ridge Walk?

It is located in Bali, Indonesia, within walking distance from the center of Ubud. The perfect place to experience a magical sunrise or sunset.

Best Time to Visit Ubud, Bali

Indonesia has two seasons: a dry season and a rainy season. Bali is a popular destination all year round! But the best time to visit Bali is during the dry season, from April to October. The weather is sunny and dry during these months, perfect for swimming, hiking, and exploring the best attractions. In high season, we strongly recommend booking accommodation, ferry tickets, and tours in advance!

Bali has a tropical climate, with hot and humid weather, and the average temperature is around 27°C all year round. The rainy season runs from November to March. We visited the Ubud Ridge Walk in mid-May and had fantastic weather.

Campuhan Ridge Walk Opening Hours

There are no opening hours, so you can visit at any time. But for the best experience, visit at sunrise.

Campuhan Ridge Walk Entrance Fee & Tickets

The ridge walk is completely free to visit. Parking is also free.

How Long is the Campuhan Ridge Walk?

The length of the ridge walk is about 2 km, which takes 15-20 minutes each way. It’s a pleasant, refreshing walk that is ideal for all ages.

Avoid crowds and hot sun and arrive as early as possible. Walking along the ridge line, you can enjoy the serene atmosphere and peaceful surroundings.

Parking Lot

The entrance to the southern point is slightly hidden. Head towards Warwick Ibah Luxury Villas & Spa and turn left downhill after the sign. There is a large parking lot on the left where you can park for free.

Whether you’re looking for a pleasant walk or a scenic trek, this beautiful walking trail is the perfect way to spend a few hours in nature. It can be very relaxing and romantic. Therefore, it is ideal for couples and families who like to walk and spend time together.

The paved trail is easy to follow and fully marked, so you can’t get lost. Once you arrive at the car park, go down the concrete path. Around the entrance, you will find many souvenir vendors.

After that, there are some steps, and then you have to cross the river, where you will pass a Balinese temple (Pura Gunung Lebah). Since there may be monkeys around the temple, take care of your valuables!

Ubud Ridge Walk

The path goes uphill, which is a bit steep and covered with long grass on both sides. Once you reach the ridge, it takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the Bangkiang Sidem at the end of the trail.

Along the trail, many parts are overgrown with vegetation, but there are still great views of both sides of the valley. As the area is very peaceful and the air is clean, it’s the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Ubud and take a pleasant walk. Wear comfortable shoes (not slippers) as the path can be slippery after rain.

Use sunscreen, bring mosquito repellent spray & plenty of water, and wear a hat.

There are several cafes in the beautiful village at the end of the walk, offering stunning views of the rice fields and rice terraces. After the Campuhan Ridge Walk, we recommend taking a break and enjoying a refreshing drink at Karsa Kafe.

As you will have to walk there and back, allow at least 1-2 hours for the ridge walk, including photo stops. For more beautiful walking trails, visit Tegalalang or Jatiluwih Rice Terrace.

Book this top-rated Ubud private tour via Viator or GetYourGuide.
