The Wapa di Ume Ubud is one of our favorite resorts in Bali, and we are happy to share our experiences and feedback in this hotel review.
Are you looking for where to stay in Ubud? Wapa di Ume Ubud is one of the perfect places for a romantic holiday, for families, or for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Bali.
We spent two wonderful nights there, explored the area around the resort, visited the nearby attractions, and did the must-do experiences in Bali, like the floating breakfast and flower bath.

Our Review of Wapa di Ume Ubud Resort
Where is Wapa di Ume Ubud?
The Wapa di Ume Ubud Resort & Spa is located just 5 minutes from the center of Ubud, surrounded by Balinese rice fields.
The resort is situated in a beautiful and quiet area, so it is ideal for relaxation and a romantic holiday.
How to Get to Wapa di Ume Ubud?
There are several ways to get there. We recommend catching a taxi or using Grab or Gojek to get to the hotel.
But the most comfortable way is to hire a private driver.
Good to know
Depending on traffic, Ubud is 1-2 hours from Denpasar International Airport (airport code DPS).

As Ubud is the most popular destination in Bali, you can easily combine a visit to the resort with nearby attractions such as Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace, and Goa Gajah Temple.

Wapa di Ume Ubud offers a shuttle service between Ubud and the resort.
Arrive at Wapa di Ume Ubud
After arriving at the boutique resort, we were welcomed at reception by a friendly staff. We loved the design of the reception, the combination of modern and Balinese culture, and the flowers everywhere.
Then, we checked in and were given some cool towels, a delicious welcome drink, and fresh fruits.
We were then given information about the resort’s facilities, the shuttle schedules between Ubud and the hotel, breakfast and afternoon tea times, and wellness and spa services.
Afterward, the staff took care of our luggage and drove us by golf cart to our villa, which had a private pool.
Our villa was stunningly beautiful! The flower arrangement in the room would have been perfect for any honeymoon couple.
Unlike many other hotels, Wapa di Ume Ubud replied immediately on WhatsApp and solved our problem or fulfilled our requests. We loved that the staff was so friendly and helpful!

Free and secure parking is available if you arrive by scooter or car!
Room Types
The Wapa di Ume Ubud is a beautiful resort with 33 rooms and villas.
There are six different room types available

There are only 10 private pool villas at Wapa di Ume Ubud. We recommend booking in advance and enjoying the best experience!
One Bedroom Pool Villa
The One Bedroom with a private pool villa is perfect for two people, and we loved it!
In the 144 sqm villa, the bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and a charming daybed with cushions.
In addition, a spacious bathroom is included in the room with a sunken bath, separate shower, toilet, and double washbasin.
The bathroom has a fantastic view of the pool and the natural garden.
There are two sun beds by the pool and a beautiful view from our terrace, which you can see in the picture below.
It’s good to know that some One Bedroom Pool Villas have a view of rice fields from the balcony.
Facilities
Swimming Pools
Although most villas have a private pool, the resort has two pools for all guests.
The Wapa main pool is a two-level pool located next to the Ume Spa, where you can relax by the pool, enjoy sunbathing on the sun beds, or hang out at the pool bar.
But our favorite was the Infinity Pool, where we spent most of our time. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a delicious cocktail, snack, or afternoon tea at Wapa’s restaurant.
This spot offers beautiful photo opportunities, or you can enjoy your free time by the pool.
Gym and Fitness Center
The gym is equipped with the most modern, high-tech equipment.
If you are looking for intense activity or want to stay fit during your holiday, the gym is the perfect place.
The gym is free to access and is open daily from 7 AM to 5 PM.
Yoga Center
The yoga classes are available from beginner to advanced but are mainly recommended for beginners. So this is a fantastic opportunity if you haven’t done yoga before but would like to try this activity.
Complimentary on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7 AM to 8 AM. Private yoga class is available on request!
We recommend joining a yoga class, meeting new people, and learning some great yoga poses.
Ume Spa

The Uma Spa is a beautiful, peaceful place with panoramic views and well-trained therapists offering a variety of services for persons and couples.
You can choose from different massages, therapies, rituals, beauty treatments, many baths (aromatherapy flower, sea salt, milk, and citrus bath), or enjoy a special honeymoon package.
Don’t miss out on the Ume Spa and treat yourself to a massage, an essential oil ritual, or a flower bath.
Dining Experiences
The Wapa di Ume Ubud has a fantastic restaurant, the Mr. Wayan, Coffee & Eatery, where you can try the best of Balinese cuisine and enjoy beautiful views of the rice terraces.
The Mr. Wayan Ubud restaurant menu offers fantastic Balinese specialties and well-known Western dishes such as pasta, burgers, and pizza.
We loved the peaceful atmosphere, the heavenly food, and the beautiful views at breakfast.
The daily breakfast consists of a light main dish (which you can choose from the menu), a variety of pastries with jam and butter, and fresh fruit. In addition, coffee or tea, water, and delicious juices are served with your breakfast.
During our visit, two guests had birthdays, and all the staff made sure they had the best birthday moment, including serving them cakes.
Even if you’re not a guest at the resort, it’s still worth eating at the restaurant, believe us, you won’t regret it! The restaurant is open every day from 7 AM to 11 PM.
The Wapas restaurant serves afternoon tea from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Infinity Pool, which is complimentary for resort guests. You can choose coffee or tea with a savory or sweet cake.
Are you looking for a unique experience in Bali? At Wapa di Ume Ubud, they provide a floating breakfast, which is one of the best things to do for couples on a Bali holiday.
TIP
You can also book a romantic candlelight dinner, experience the BBQ culture dinner, or join a Balinese private cooking class with lunch/dinner.

Our two days at Wapa di Ume Ubud were fantastic, and we enjoyed every moment. We loved the resort design, the beautiful villa, the delicious food, the relaxed atmosphere, and the friendly staff.
