Staying in Himare city center is one of the best options whether you arrive by car or public transport. However, the town is small, and the streets are narrow, so if you’re coming by car, look for a hotel with private parking. Himare Beach is a short walk from the town and is a stunning public beach in Albania, which is free to visit.

Around the beach, you will find many cozy restaurants, bars, local vendors, and shops. Spend a few hours relaxing on the beach, drinking a refreshing cocktail, or trying delicious Albanian food.

Where to stay in Himare if you are looking for affordable but comfortable accommodation? Sea Breeze Rooms is in a great location, just a 5-minute walk from the main road and the free beach. The apartment is in a nice family-owned building with a beautiful garden full of vegetables, fruits and flowers.
It has spacious rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a beautiful terrace with sea and mountain views. One of the best choices for a stay in Himare if you’re traveling with family or friends.

3. Unique Hotels to Stay near Himare
Although these hotels are located outside the city, a 10-minute drive away, they are a good choice if you are looking for unique accommodations. Livadhi Beach and Aquarium Beach are nearby, so you shouldn’t miss them.
As we had limited time, we only visited the hidden Aquarium Beach. This is a small, secluded pebble beach with crystal clear water in a small cove among the rocks.

When is the best time to stay in Himare?
The best time to visit is from May to September. The weather is sunny and dry during these months, perfect for swimming, boat trips, and exploring the nearby attractions. The hottest months are July and August.
How to Get to Himare
Most people come from Tirana, Vlore, or Saranda. You can easily get by taxi, bus, or rental car. There is no train service between the two cities.

How many days do you need?
It was one of our favorite places in Albania. So we recommend you spend at least 3 days and enjoy the best things to do. Then travel to Ksamil or Saranda.
