The distance between Da Nang and Hanoi is about 765 km, which is 14-17 hours, depending on traffic and mode of transport.

If you want to get from Hanoi to Hoi An first, it is good to know that trains, planes, and most buses arrive in Da Nang.

Hanoi to Da Nang by Flight
The easiest and fastest way to get to Da Nang is by plane. Da Nang is the perfect base for discovering popular places in Central Vietnam, such as Hoi An and Hue.
Da Nang International Airport (airport code DAD) is one of the busiest airports in Vietnam. Vietnam Airlines, Bamboo Airways, and VietJet Air operate several daily flights from Noi Bai International Airport (airport code HAN) to Da Nang.
The flight takes just 1.5 hours, and plane tickets start from 40 USD (without luggage) per person for one way.

Da Nang Airport to City Center
It takes approximately 15 minutes to reach the city center from Da Nang Airport. You can get to the city center by taxi, shared minivan, bus, or private transfer.

Alternatively, book a shuttle bus from the airport to Hoi An, which costs 6 USD per person. The travel time is 45-90 minutes, depending on traffic and number of passengers.
Hanoi to Da Nang by Sleeper Train
One of the best ways to get to Da Nang is by overnight train. Hanoi Railway Station is just a 30-minute walk or 10-minute taxi ride from the Old Quarter. You can easily reach Hanoi train station from the airport by bus, minivan, or taxi.
The train journey to Da Nang takes 16-17 hours. As trains only run five times a day, tickets sell out quickly. Therefore, we recommend buying them days in advance online (especially in high season).

Hanoi to Da Nang by Bus
The cheapest way to reach Da Nang is by bus. Many bus companies offer buses from Hanoi to Da Nang. Each company has different departure and arrival stations, so you can choose the one that best suits you.
The travel time is approximately 15-17 hours, depending on traffic. Buses depart several times a day from 4 PM to 7:30 PM. We recommend you arrive at the bus station at least 30 minutes before departure.
