Where is Nipah Beach?

It is located in the northwest of Lombok Island, Indonesia, just a 15-minute drive from the town of Senggigi.

How to Get to Nipah Beach

The best way to get to the beach is to rent a scooter or hire a private driver. You will love the scenic landscape and incredible views while driving. We rented a motorbike and explored the nearby beaches at our own pace.

Scooter rental starts from 65,000 IDR (4 USD) per day, but we don’t recommend paying more than 85,000 IDR (5 USD). If you rent a scooter for several days, ask for a discount!

The beach has two entrances. There is no entrance fee, and parking is free. Once you arrive, it’s just a few minutes walk from the parking lot to this breathtaking stretch of beach.

Best Time to Visit Lombok

Indonesia has two seasons: a dry season and a rainy season. Lombok is a popular destination all year round! However, the best time to visit Lombok is during the dry season, which runs from May to October. The weather is sunny and dry during these months, perfect for swimming, hiking, and exploring Lombok’s attractions.

Lombok Island has a tropical climate with high humidity, and the average temperature is 28°C all year round. The rainy season runs from November to April.

The busiest time to visit Lombok is between July and August. In high season, we strongly recommend booking accommodation and tours in advance!

Nipah Beach, Lombok

Nipah Beach, Lombok

Nipah is a clean sandy beach with peaceful shores where you can enjoy the tropical sun, kayak, or snorkel. When you arrive, you’ll find plenty of warungs, where friendly locals sell refreshing drinks, cold coconuts, and fresh, grilled seafood.

You can rent snorkel gear on the beach and even see turtles if you go deeper into the water.

There may be a lot of coral in the water, so be careful, and we recommend wearing water shoes.

If you are looking for a beach resort close to Nipah Beach, we recommend staying at Seven Secrets by Hanging Gardens. The hotel has the perfect tropical atmosphere to ensure the best relaxation during your stay in Lombok.

Nipah Beach photos

During the monsoon season, or when the waves are high, a lot of trash can wash ashore. Fortunately, the beach was clean when we visited.

This beach is mostly visited by locals, especially on weekends. During our visit, we were lucky as there were no tourists and only a few locals around the beach. Pantai Nipah is a great place to enjoy a fresh coconut, relax, or watch the sunset, so don’t miss it.

Nipah Beach Turtle Sanctuary

There is also a turtle sanctuary where you can see some baby turtles. The turtle sanctuary focuses on releasing as many turtles as possible back into the sea when they are strong enough.

You can hire snorkeling equipment, and they will show you the best turtle spots nearby.

TIP
For a small donation, you can release baby turtles into the sea at high tide, which is a fantastic experience.
