Where is Pandanan Beach?

The beach is located in the northwest of Lombok Island, Indonesia, overlooking the Gili Islands.

How to Get to Pandanan Beach

The best way to get to the beach is to rent a scooter or hire a private driver. You will love the scenic landscape and incredible views while driving. The beach is only a 25-minute motorbike ride from Senggigi. Parking was free when we visited.

We rented a motorbike and explored the nearby beaches at our own pace. Scooter rental starts from 65,000 IDR (4 USD) per day, but we don’t recommend paying more than 85,000 IDR (5 USD). If you rent a scooter for several days, ask for a discount!

Best Time to Visit Lombok

Indonesia has two seasons: a dry season and a rainy season. Lombok is a popular destination all year round! However, the best time to visit Lombok is during the dry season, which runs from May to October. The weather is sunny and dry during these months, perfect for swimming, hiking, and exploring Lombok’s attractions.

Lombok Island has a tropical climate with high humidity, and the average temperature is 28°C all year round. The rainy season runs from November to April.

The busiest time to visit Lombok is between July and August. In high season, we strongly recommend booking accommodation and tours in advance!

Pandanan Beach, Lombok

Pandanan Beach is a beautiful white sandy beach with crystal clear turquoise waters, suitable for families as the waves are not too big.

Pantai Pandanan is free to visit, and you can easily combine your visit with the nearby Nipah and Malimbu beaches. If you are coming from Nipah Beach, stop right in front of the beach at the top of the hill and enjoy the panoramic view of Pandanan Beach.

There are some shady areas on the beach right next to the trees, or you can sit in one of the little huts, most of which overlook the sea.

We ordered two coconuts with fresh grilled fish from one of the warungs and enjoyed the local cuisine. After lunch, we took some photos with our drone, and the view from above was even more impressive.

Pandanan Beach, Lombok

When we were there, we only met a few tourists, mostly locals. Therefore, this is a good place for those looking for a quieter beach to relax, swim, or watch the sunset in Lombok. You can also rent a kayak or canoe or take a banana boat ride, which is a fantastic experience.

Good to know
During the monsoon season, or when the waves are high, a lot of trash can wash ashore. When we visited, the beach was a bit littered.
