The Munduk Four Waterfalls tour is an incredible experience where you can adventure in nature, chase waterfalls, and eat delicious local food. The waterfalls are so close to each other that the whole group is often called Munduk Waterfalls. We really enjoyed exploring these beautiful waterfalls without the crowds.

When is the Best Time to Visit Munduk Waterfalls?

Indonesia has two seasons: a dry season and a rainy season. The best time to visit Munduk is during the dry season, which runs from April to October. The weather is sunny and dry during these months, perfect for swimming, hiking, and exploring the nearby attractions.

Bali has a tropical climate, with hot and humid weather, and the average temperature is around 27°C all year round. The rainy season runs from November to March.

During the rainy season or after heavy rains, the waterfalls are powerful and intense, providing a stunning sight for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. However, access to the falls can be more difficult during the rainy season when the trail is too muddy and slippery.

Before visiting the Munduk area, check the weather forecast, as the weather in the highlands of North Bali is often unpredictable.

We visited these waterfalls in mid-May and had fantastic weather. We were lucky because we had these waterfalls almost to ourselves. So we recommend arriving early and taking some beautiful photos.

Munduk Waterfalls Trekking Guide

The Munduk Four Waterfalls tour includes Red Coral (Munduk Waterfall), Melanting Waterfall, Labuhan Kebo Waterfall, and Golden Valley Waterfall. You can visit the waterfalls independently or as part of the Munduk Four Waterfalls trek.

Although it’s called the Four Waterfalls tour, you can also add Belong Waterfall, which is within walking distance.

Most people only visit Red Coral Waterfall and do not do the Munduk Four Falls trek. But you should visit Labuhan Kebo Waterfall, which is the most unique and beautiful of all. Trust us, you will not be disappointed with its beauty.

The four waterfalls tour takes about 4 hours.

Munduk Waterfalls Trekking Point (Long Hike)

You can start the hike to four waterfalls from two locations. One starting point is from the village of Munduk, although this option is not recommended as the trailhead is not well marked. There is a small road next to Taman Ayu Homestay, and you have to start on it. From here, you will first reach the Melanting Waterfall, then go up the stairs, pay the entrance fee, and follow the trail to the other waterfalls.

The other starting point is further north, starting at Warung Tutub, and you can walk along to visit all the waterfalls. If you want to see all the waterfalls, you’ll need at least 6-7 hours, so bring plenty of water and snacks. This long hike is only recommended for those who are in good physical condition and have enough time.

Munduk Waterfalls Parking

The Munduk Waterfalls trek is easy to start from the parking lot. Just follow the signs or use our map at the bottom of the post. You can easily walk to the Red Coral Waterfall in about 10-15 minutes.

We stayed at Menir Villas, and after breakfast, we headed to the waterfalls. The parking lot was only a 15-minute scooter ride away. The parking fee during our visit was 2,000 IDR for a motorbike.

Munduk Waterfalls Trail (Short Hike)

We started our trek from the parking lot near Red Coral Waterfall and visited Labuhan Kebo Waterfall and Melanting Waterfall. Since we didn’t have enough time to hike, we had to skip the Air Terjun Golden Valley, but it was still a fantastic experience. But if you have enough time, we recommend that you also visit Air Terjun Munduk and Belong Waterfall.

TIP
There is a great local restaurant (Saraswati Warung) on ​​the trail where you can buy spices and souvenirs and enjoy delicious food.

• Red Coral (Munduk) Waterfall: One of the most accessible waterfalls, it is also the most crowded. The waterfall is extremely powerful and clean, surrounded by lush green vegetation, and offers a tranquil atmosphere.
• Labuhan Kebo Waterfall: This was our favorite waterfall. It was easily accessible, just a 15-minute walk from the official ticket office, and offered fantastic photo opportunities.
• Melanting Waterfall: This is a powerful waterfall that very few people visit. From the ticket office, there are almost 500 steps down to the waterfall, and the way back up is even sweatier but worth it.
• Golden Valley Waterfall: Near the waterfall is the Eco Cafe, where you can relax and enjoy the fantastic view while having a delicious lunch.

Munduk Waterfalls Opening Hours

The official opening hours are from 7 AM to 6 PM, but technically, the waterfalls are open 24 hours a day.

Munduk Waterfalls Entrance Fee

This is a wonderful place to explore waterfalls. But honestly, many people are a little disappointed that you have to pay separately for each waterfall in the area, except for the Golden Valley Waterfall, which is free to visit, only a donation is required.

The entrance fee is typically around 20,000 IDR (1,20 USD) for adults and 10,000 IDR (0,60 USD) for children. The most expensive of Munduk’s four waterfalls is the Red Coral Waterfall, which costs 45,000 IDR (about 3 USD) for foreigners.

Bring enough local money with you, as entrance fees can only be paid in cash.
