How to Get to Benang Stokel & Benang Kelambu Waterfall

The best way to visit Benang Stokel and Benang Kelambu Waterfall is to join a day trip from Senggigi, Mataram, Gili Air, or Kuta.

Book your waterfall tour through Viator. Alternatively, you can get there by renting a motorbike or hiring a private driver.

We rented a scooter and explored Lombok at our own pace. Always wear a helmet and avoid driving at night!

Scooter rental starts from 65,000 IDR (4,35 USD) per day, but we don’t recommend paying more than 75,000 IDR (5 USD).

From Senaru, we traveled by motorbike to Kuta and visited the Benang Stokel and Benang Kelambu waterfalls.

From Kuta and Senggigi, the waterfalls are closer by motorbike than from Senaru, with a driving time of about 1.5 hours.

Once you arrive, buy your entrance ticket and visit the waterfalls.

When is the Best Time to Visit Benang Kelambu Waterfall, Lombok?

Indonesia has two seasons: a dry season and a rainy season.

Lombok is a popular destination all year round! But the best time to visit Lombok is during the dry season, from May to October.

The weather is sunny and dry during these months, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and exploring Lombok Island.

During the rainy season, from November to April, the waterfalls are the most beautiful because they are so powerful and intense.

However, we visited Lombok in May, and it was a fantastic experience to see some of the beautiful waterfalls.

TIP
As this is a popular attraction, avoid visiting on weekends as it can be crowded!

Benang Stokel & Benang Kelambu Waterfall Tour

When you arrive at the entrance of Rinjani Geopark, buy your admission ticket at the nearby building and decide which waterfalls you want to go and how you want to visit them. Parking is free!

In fact, guides are not mandatory, and it’s worth trying to bargain on prices!

Since it took us a long time to get from Senaru, and we also wanted to travel to Kuta that day, we could only visit two waterfalls.

TIP
Book your epic tour through Viator.

Benang Kelambu Waterfall

Benang Kelambu was our favorite waterfall in Lombok. A magnificent wall of vines with cascades is one of the most beautiful scenery we have seen in Indonesia.

You can get to Benang Kelambu Waterfall by hiking or taking a local motorbike taxi.

Alternatively, you can get to the waterfall parking lot by scooter (self-drive). But the road is very bumpy, steep, and dangerous!

Our entrance ticket included a guide and motorbike transport to the waterfall and back.

Just a 15-minute walk from the parking lot, you can reach one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Lombok.

At the bottom of the waterfall are two pools, so you can easily spend a few hours of swimming and relaxing.

There are changing rooms, toilets, and small tables with chairs near the waterfall, so buy some snacks or a cool drink and enjoy the unique view.

How to visit Benang Kelambu waterfall

Benang Stokel Waterfall

We hope you enjoyed your first waterfall visit and are ready for another epic place.

We drove back to the entrance by motorbike, parked there, and headed to the Benang Stokel Waterfall.

The road down was slippery in some parts, and the hike took about 30 minutes.

The Benang Stokel is a stunning waterfall with beautiful photo opportunities. Because the underwater pool is very shallow, you can’t swim there!

Good to know
If you want to see all the waterfalls, first hike to the Benang Stokel, then a short walk to the Sesere Waterfall and Kliwun Waterfall.

Benang Kelambu Waterfall is just 15-20 minutes from the Benang Stokel. Just follow the map and signs to reach the waterfall.
